Book inside
Is there anybody out there that has a book inside because there are tons of your friends who are experiencing stuff that you couldn't make up. I mean I can't stand myself-and my husband has been begging me to write.
Leap you can fly!
March 2008
We purchased a bicycle, with attachable training wheels, this Christmas for our five year old son. For awhile, he was unable to ride because it's been really cold. When the weather broke, sometimes in late February, he began riding more frequently. We watched him ride with those extra wheels on the side and they began to bend more and more. He kept asking, “why are these wheels bending, they aren’t supporting me anymore.” We answered, “they are there to keep you from falling. When you are ready, we will take them off. But, you must need them, because you keep using them.” So, being the strong willed kid that he is, shortly after that, on March 2nd he asked for his training wheels to be taken off. My husband took them off right away. One, two, three, and off…he soared from the first second. He fell a couple of times, but not before hitting a few long strides, and has been a riding fearlessly ever since.
What are your training wheels? Or better yet, whose using you as a set of wheels.
It’s incredible what we can do without too much external reinforcement.
The more we rely on external reinforcement to carry us, the less our internal power shows up. Get uncomfortable, fall down.
